Privacy Policy
For the purposes of this policy, "Final Demand" includes Final Demand, Bridgewater Mercantile and its related entities.

Final Demand has always respected the privacy of individuals. It will continue to do so by treating all personal information as confidential and by handling it in accordance with the Privacy Act and the National Privacy Principles. During the course of its activities, Final Demand will collect, record, use and disclose personal information about natural persons who are-

  1. a customer of Final Demand or a director of a company that is a customer of Final Demand;
  2. a debtor, guarantor or referee of a Final Demand customer or supplier;
  3. a contractor or supplier of goods and services to Final Demand; or
  4. a solicitor or other professional consultant engaged by Final Demand;

Mostly, information comes directly from the persons or from their agents or intermediaries. Sometimes, it comes from third parties with a connection to the person. The type of information collected will vary considerably depending on the nature of the arrangements with Final Demand and the person's connection with the arrangements. It may include information about-

  1. Name, address and contact details;
  2. Date of birth, driver's licence particulars etc;
  3. Employment and/or business history; and
  4. Financial circumstances, income and history.

The purpose for which the information is collected, as well as its nature can result in some personal information being disclosed to parties outside of Final Demand but only where there is a valid reason for this to happen. External parties to whom information may be disclosed include (but are not limited to)

  1. credit reporting agencies;
  2. auditors, solicitors, and other professional consultants;
  3. suppliers, insurers, repairers and contractors;
  4. trade, commercial and/or mercantile agents and auctioneers;
  5. insolvency practitioners such as Administrators, Receivers, Liquidators;
  6. insurers, insurance brokers, insurance assessors and inspection agents;
  7. vehicle registration authorities, motor clubs etc; and
  8. Government Departments or Agencies (where required or authorised by Law).

As a matter of course, Final Demand will require anyone to whom personal information is made available to respect the privacy of the person to whom it relates. Persons who want to know what personal information Final Demand holds about them and how it has been used are invited to send a written request to The Privacy Contact Officer, Final Demand-
